Winter news & events 2011


Wishing you are your family a Happy Holiday season , and hope you have a wonderful
year ahead. Once again I thank you for your business in 2010. As a small business I am
continuing to try to stay open despite all of the “big box” stores that continue to appear
all around me. Your support has allowed me to stay open and offer you a service that I
love doing.

The colder weather is here, great time to be warm inside and get some scrapbooking
done. As usual a lot happening in the studio this season. Please note that there are
several closures as I continue to juggle time with my family, the children's hockey &
skating, and my other jobs. Please check the website, Face book, or call to be sure I am
open. I always try to post closure dates well in advance. Due to missing most family
events over the last couple of years I have made it a priority not to miss them this year.
Please call  first if you plan to visit the studio on a Saturday, during the winter season I
will be closing for hockey and skating when the need arises. If you are unable to come
during business hours please ask me to make other          arrangements or make an
appointment to shop, I will always try my best to accommodate you.

Time to renew your yearly membership, for only $30/year here are some of the
benefits:

· A year of Scrapbook & Cards Today  reserved for you the entire year.

· Member only crops.

· Notifications of special deals, products, other news before everyone else.

· Use of my studio, tools, inks, stamps, die cutters, and tons more for the year.

· Double stamps on your discount card the last Saturday of each Month.

· Use of the lending library.

· Members only specials on products.

· More benefits, ask me for details.



Drop in continues for open hours ( Wed 1pm to 4pm, Thurs. & Fri. 1pm to 9pm, &
Saturday 9:30am to 12:30pm), during open hours you can come work on your projects,
use my tools, and I will offer my        assistance, for only $3.00 a visit ( the cost has
increased from $2.00 for drop in ). If you know you are    coming as a larger group,
please call to ensure I have enough space set up for you ahead of time.



I am pleased to announce the addition of 2 new designers to my already amazing group
of designers. Please welcome Jennifer Day and Lori Forester to my Design team. They
will be a continued source of    inspiration throughout the year.  Lori will be teaching
various classes including the advanced Copic classes in the studio as well. Stop by to
see some of their work or have a look on my website or n the Face book fan page.



There will be a few new classes this season, most of which will be taught by new
designer Lori    Forester. Be sure to check out the calendar for the mixed media canvas
class, as well as the advanced Copic classes. I will be continuing to teach the Copic
basics class as it has been so popular and each class has been full. I will announce
more classes and events, please check your email and face book for announcements. I
am looking for new teachers for the studio, email me if you are interested.

The new Winter issue of The Canadian Scrapbooker has arrived, and the winter issue
of Scrapbook & Cards today will be here late December, both of these go very quickly!!


So many new products pouring in, it’s so hard to keep up.  New items include: Basic
Grey, Jovial,  curio and Marjolaine, Bo Bunny, Midnight frost collection from Bo Bunny,
Several new Collection from TCP studios, Baseball, Disney, & Tinker bell paper, Echo
parks new boy and Winter time collections, new    Thickers from American Crafts, 2 new
food papers ( Doodlebug & Little yellow Bicycle), new punches from Martha Stewart,
new flowers & crystals from Prima, lots more come have a look, link is below.

Remember if I don’t carry what you need I will order it for you. Most large items such as
organizing items, die cutting machines etc. are available  on a order basis only. I do
keep one of many large items in stock but during holiday season they sell quickly.


You can fill out a wish list in the studio, that way family and friends will have gift ideas
for Christmas or birthdays. I offer Gift certificates as well.



The winner of the  Summer contest was Michelle Otterman of Metcalfe. The Winter
contest kits will be available November 30th. The Fall projects will be on display then as
well, so be sure to stop by and vote for your favourite.



Monthly draw winners for this season were: Leigh Potts, Kathy Hillis, & Marina Crober.
Be sure to enter the monthly draw each time you make a purchase or take a class.



I continue to order items for you, if you want something ordered please let me know. I
also post all new items on to my Face Book fan page as soon as the arrive. You can
have items saved for you, to pick up at your convenience.



I offer Gift certificate for that hard to by scrapbooker on your Holiday or Birthday list. I
will order bigger items in as well, big shot, Cricut, Cuttlebug, and accessories as well.
Yes, you may use your coupon on these big items!!



Please remember to bring your reusable grocery bag when you shop. I have not
purchased any bags yet and don’t plan to. I accept donations of plastic bags with no
advertising, I am happy to reuse them.



I have decided not to host a crop this season but would love to be a vendor at your crop
or event. Please ask me well in advance as my schedule fills up quickly. I will do crops
and events only if I have    cropping space so I can work at my projects between
customers.



Please check your email , my website, and Face book often. I will be announcing more
events  & classes soon. I am planning some Friday night member and ladies night out
crops for here in the studio.



Every new year I continue to re-evaluate things, I am very open to suggestions. If there
is a class or product you would like please let me know. If you have any type of
suggestion please let me know I try my best to offer great customer service. I am  
looking for teachers for the new year. So if you have a class you would like to teach
please let me know. I am looking for a variety of different projects, cards, altered items,
mini albums, scrapbooking, mixed media, and more.



Hope you stay warm and safe this holiday season, thanks again for all your support. I
am so very thankful for all of the amazing people and friendships I have made through
our wonderful hobby.
