| Winter 2008 Newsletter This is such a fun busy time around my studio. With the holidays and the New Year it’s always a fun time to start new projects. Everyone has tons of holiday and winter activity photos to scrapbook. The new year is a great time to learn a new technique or take a new class. I always beat the winter blues by scrapbooking my summer pictures. I finally have interact, Visa, and Master card up and running. I am also now open every Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 4 PM. As always you can call to come by anytime to shop or book a class at your convenience. I am home most afternoons and evenings. Drop in/ shop open hours continue every Thursday and Friday evenings from 7:30 PM to 9: 30 PM. I’ll be closed for holidays and Inventory December 24 to January 6 they be no classes or drop in. Classes this season include holiday card classes, a memory wall hanging, Calendar club, and an Address altered Binder, and more. There are still spots available for the special Figgy pudding card class in December, the class is only $25.00 the kit itself is a value of over $ 20.00, my special treat for the first 6 people that sign up. I’ll be having several spring card making classes with some cards designed by Design team member Tanya Gibbs the first one is in February. Also don’t miss the gel-A-tins scrapbook page class or the mini gift album class!! There will be a ladies night out crop from 7:30 to Midnight every second month on Friday night. You must register as there is limited space. I will be teaching an 8 week children’s paper craft course at my studio for the township of North Dundas. It will be for boys or girls aged 6 to 13years, no experience is necessary. The course will be from on Tuesday evenings, 7:00PM to 8: 30 starting January 22nd and runs for 8 weeks. The Design Team is going strong and working hard doing many amazing pages and projects. Congratulations to this years team: Melisa Ross, Tanya Gibbs, Carmen Musgrave, and Christine Vanden Broek . It sure was hard to pick the team with so many amazing people trying out. Don’t forget to try again next year!! The Design team page is one of the most popular on my web site. We’re all getting tons of inspiration from their work, I can’t wait to see what the come up with when they get samples of new products. Pick up your Winter 2008 kit starting November 30th ( Fall pages are due that day as well), winter pages aren’t due until the end of February. The kit is a surprise and always contains enough products to complete 2 pages. The challenge is to only use the items in the kit to complete your page. Bring in your completed project and have a chance to win a gift certificate. New products are plentiful this time of year with new items from Heidi Grace, DCWV, Fiskars, Scenic Route, Prima, Gel-a-Tins, We R Memory Keepers, Cloud Nine, SEI, Fancy Pants, and tons more. Chip board is still very popular but felt embellishments are becoming a hot trend as well. Some of my favourite new products are the Fiskars squeeze punches, the Rock Star and All dressed up papers by DCWV, I am still loving all the Scenic Route papers, can’t get enough of these . Other favourites I can’t wait to start scrapping with are the kitty and dog park collections from SEI and the new chalet papers by Cloud Nine. Now booking crafting Birthday parties for boys and girls you bring the cake and I plan the rest! See me for details and pricing. You may pick the paper crafting project and I can even help the Birthday boy/girl design the invitations!! Don’t forget we offer Video transfer services for only $15.00. Those VHS tapes of weddings, babies and other special events don’t last forever. Drop them off and we’ll transfer them to DVD for you. Want to make your own wedding invitations, Birthday or other card items, ask me for details on how I can help. With all purchases over $25.00 for November and December you can pick out one of the new paper ornaments to make from K & Co. You also get an ornament with the purchase of any gift certificate for Novemeber and December. Just mention the word **Ornament to get this special. The new Simply Cards Idea book by the creator of Scrapbooking & Cards today is here, and it’s amazing!! The new book Best of Becky Higgins Sketches has just arrived as well. Want to keep up to date on all the latest paper crafting trends? Need ideas? I have a lending library available free of charge, you must sign out all books and magazines. Also I’m making room for my never ending addiction to scrapbooking magazines and books and have many slightly used items for sale for only $1.00. Try before you buy. I really like people to try items before they buy them. When you visit please ask me to show you tools, techniques, stamps, and other items. Most of the items I have for sale are here to try out before you buy them. Some of my favourite items are Gel-a-tin stamps, the Crop-a-dile, Silent Setter, and the Provo Craft 12 inch trimmer. Every time you make a purchase or take a class you are entered into the monthly draw. Draw winners for this season were: Taylor Ace, Marion Brown, Wanda Douma, and Annemarie Van Adrichem.
